Style Watch: August 2011

August2011
As summer trends transition into fall fashions, we are getting into one of my favorite seasons of the year. Everything around us is changing, from long hot summer days to cooler crisp fall days, and from the smoky smell of backyard barbecues to leaves changing colors—I tend to pay a little more attention. The fall season is an explosion of texture and color; it’s all around us and I tend to draw the most inspiration for my designs during these months. It’s hard not to when everything is screaming to be noticed!

We take warmth for granted all summer long, and when the cooler days of fall come around we look for warmth in the colors we wear.  I think consumers are going to see a lot of surprises this fall season—I don’t think they are going to expect all the bright colors that are going to be so fashionable this season mixed in with all those neutral colors that we have come to love. It is definitely going to make this fall fashion season a little more unexpected and a whole lot of fun.

Our August releases are no exception! They offer you a little bit of everything—from elegant colors and fun prints to soft, ageless neutrals. Melody and Donna are classic and timeless—their cool greys and stone hues bring the heat down on summer temperatures yet still provide a sizzle all their own.  Understated elegance is expressed through warm, clean colors and unfussy designs on the runway.  Simplicity without compromise is always in demand—Jan’ee and Nikki with their basic geometry and minimalist color palette are exactly what this trend is about.

Animal prints—you love them and so does the runway! For fall however, it’s out with the demure accents and in with bold, strong, colors with a renewed attitude. Jocelynne with her flirtatious purple print says it all.

I am really excited for this fall/winter season! I hope you all will love it as much as I do.

Love,

Miche Rep Conferences

The Miche team is popping up all around the country at Miche Rep Conferences to talk all things Miche, and to check out the communities where Miche is sold.  So far Miche Bag Vice Pres., Jayma Woods and Miche Bag designer, Jennie Platt have had a great time meeting some of the Miche Reps who are making wonderful Miche moments happen in their home towns.

“It was amazing and we felt so welcomed by the whole group! They called in the beautiful weather and arrived sporting ‘Jen’ and ‘Jayma’ shells in honor of their guests,” said Jayma Woods after visiting with Miche reps in Akron Ohio.

Miche Bag CEO, Corbin Church traveled with the Miche team as they stopped by Akron, Richmond, Nashville, and several other cities, looking for someone who was sporting the ‘Corbin’ shell to no avail. He is hoping maybe someday Jenny Platt will actually design a ‘Corbin’ shell for him.

Then the group headed west. “We spent time in Portland Oregon for a great event.  We got to meet Marge from Brooklyn, that’s M-A-reg,” Said Jayma Woods. “We also had a great time in Spokane Washington and enjoyed the “candy buffet/bar” and our Mini togo Miche Bags!”

Keep your eye out for the Miche team in your hometown if you haven’t seen them already!!

Miche Bag Wants to Raise $1 Million for Cancer Research with the New “Hope” Shell!

Hope Small Front (3)

Miche Bag has found a way to give back, with the release of the new “Hope” shell. The proceeds from this shell will be donated to Huntsman Cancer Foundation to fund cancer research at Huntsman Cancer Institute. The shell comes in both classic size and big bag size, and was designed using quotes from real cancer survivors!

Miche Bag designer Jennie Platt felt that supporting cancer research was a perfect fit for the company because so many people associated with Miche Bag have shared personal battles with this terrible disease.

“In helping put together this program I was introduced to many courageous and inspiring people who were willing to share their journey with cancer,” Platt says, “a battle filled with challenges but also hope, love and beauty.  The shell I created needed to resonate this same message.  In the end, their message became the design and ‘Hope’ became a shell.”

The Company has set a goal to donate $1 million before 2011! To be apart of this great cause please buy a Hope shell from your nearest sales representative, retail outlet, or checkout the new Hope shell right here on Michebag.com!
