p.s. I should note that the expandable design of the Miche Bag is not intended as an invitation to over-stuff the purse, but rather is meant to provide easy view of the contents of your purse. As a woman I know I have a tendancy to fill the space I have, particularly in my closet and purse, whether I need it or not. If you’re like me, I’m sure you’ll find that your Miche Bag easily holds the necessities right in place, but that second novel really can wait until next week. 
Received this black bag, long straps, and 2 shells for Christmas. Neither the bag or the shells were smelly. Love the length of the long straps and the concept!! Suggestion: The interior zipper pocket needs to be more roomy. You can barely get your fingers in it. The cell phone compartment is too narrow for my skinny Blackberry. I can see that compartment becoming pretty useless too. Please have the women in your QC Department actually try to put their belongings in these little pockets. Just a bit more give or elastic would be great!

I just got my Miche bag with 5 covers, the straps, and the covers holder.
I love the concept for I hate to change bags.I also think the holder idea is great.
I am worried about the straps due to all the comments that I ahve read. I also would like the bag to be of higher quality such as leather.Maybe this will be possible in the future.
I was interested in the comment about the Christine cover. I too had the same feeling and decided not to use mine for it looked cheap. I was wondering if I could exchange it for another? I have four others which I LOVE.
I also would like to have a price list of the covers and how to order them.
I have a trunk full of purses but am happy that I won’t have the trouble of unloading them anymore.

I was about to order a purse online but there is never any amount telling me how much the shipping and handling is. It seems you have to commit to payment before you will get a total price. Why not give all the information one needs to make an informed decision?

Your web page only shows5and a half of 1 of your shells!
I purchased my purse from a fair in Vancouver and the distributor who was promoting it (as that is what they do at the fairs) told me if I had any problems with the product or changed my mind, that I’m to contact the distributor directly (they have 30 day money back guarantee on all their products–whether it be purses, mixers, mops, etc). My receipt had the distributors contact information. We have purchased other items in the past that this distributor backs, so that is partly why I chose to get the purse. I have confidence in the distributor and they stand behind the products they back.
I may have missed it, but I would like to know what the base bag is made out of and what are the shells made from? Leather? Fabric?, etc.
The concept sounds and looks wonderful.

Thank God for the internet because my husband almost bought this piece of crap for me until I read this blog. Way to take a great concept and ruin it with shoddy workmanship, inferior materials, and poor customer service. Shame, shame, shame.

My husband purchased my bag on-line with a few hints from me and a saved web site for our Anniversary. I love the bag and was using it daily until the straps that hold the metal pieces to the bag broke. This summer. I sent an e-mail asking if the bag would be replace or if there is any way to repair it. I haven’t heard a response. I did not over stuff my purse. I only carry a wallet and keys. My question is, Has anyone else had these problems? How did you handle it?

I saw the commercial on TV from the site 4miche.com,and was going to order it but thought I would see what other women thought about it and about the web site.Listening ,I found that the web site was "not user friendly" and need to go to the original site,and so many problems!,my gosh,if the Miche Company listens closely to all these comments they should come up with a great bag,but untill they FIX where it’s coming from(China) and the product you WILL have the GREAT possiblity of it being an inferior purse.If it was made in the U.S.A. I know the purse would sell GREAT(who doesn’t like somthing from the USA) and you would have generally a better bag!Please do something about this ,for I would LOVE to have a bag!But untill then…not now.

I saw a commercial for this purse, and I think it is a brilliant idea! Will you be making a longer strap for the purse? I like to wear my purses with a crossbody strap. And will you be making more basic bag styles? Thank you. And Bravo! on this truly genius idea.

I had a similar problem with the strap that holds the metal piece to the bag. I also did not have much in my purse — I went to a shoe repair shop at a local mall and they were kind enough to sew the strap back into the purse. It took the guy just a couple of minutes to double stitch it back on (you’d never know he did it) and he was so nice–he didn’t even charge me!! Good luck.

Recently became a distributor in New York. Women love these bags. A few suggestions – some would like the long strap to be a bit heavier (using thicker material). Also, I’d love to see an evening clutch with removable shells (a bit smaller than the mini miche).

It had lots of colorful glamorous women prints on the side in a collage format. It looked like a fun shell for the bag. I haven’t seen it since. hi there. saw the bag and love it going to get one but in the uk there aren’t that many designs available in the shells. seen the ones on the usa and canadian websites and there is a much greater variety. i love them all but am bit upset can’t get them in uk. any ideas if they will be available to us here or if we can order from the candian website for example and get them shipped to uk?

I found the bags while on vacation in Wisconsin Dells and had my boyfriend buy me one for my birthday. I have only had the bag for 6 weeks and absolutly love it with the exception of the fact that the stap on the zipper has offically snapped off. If there was a way around this small problem the bag would be perfect in my opinion.
I love these bags! One thing I have noticed and other too the sides of the purse bow out and I have to keep pushing them back into the purse.
I too have only had my bag for a few months and I don’t use it often because I work construction so I carry a wallet. My straps are ripping around the rings. Please say that is included in the one year guarantee. I bought mine at the Puyallup Fair this year in September. Please help.
I LOVE THIS PRODUCT!! I have an obsession for purses and shoes and this is totally perfect for me! I was on vacation in Florida to find the purses being sold in a flea market, I bought a base bag and 2 shells. Got home and became a representative to share this wonderful handbag! Had my bag for about 2 weeks. My husband suprised me with it. I really love the handbag. I have read that the magnets will not harm credit cards and cell phones. I have to tell you that the magnets did indeed "kill" my cell phone. So, just a warning to be careful. Anyone else have this problem?
I find the CUSTOMER SERVICE to be totally lacking any type of professionalism. We are STILL waiting for a reply from July 2008 of trying to be a hostess and/or distributor.
We placed an order on August 25, 2008 and didn’t recieve the purse until OCTOBER 10th!!! We did get the shells in September which was VERY HELPFUL without the purse!!!
While the product line is top notch….the CUSTOMER SERVICE AND RESPONSE is TERRIBLE!!!

I received my bag about a month ago. I am not easy on handbags due to my work, but purses are my passion. I have worn this everyday and there are no signs of wear/tear on the straps or anywhere else. I have a colleciton of high priced designer bags and I gotta tell you I am thrilled with the quality of this bag for the price. If the base bag has to be replaced once a year but allows me to continue using the exterior shells, then I am thrilled and everyone else should be too. I think expecting the base bag to last 3-5 years for everyday use is unrealistic for this price. However, if you change the shells often, I see the shells lasting for a very long time. I hope to not have any trouble with my bag, and I am very interested in selling these bags in my area.
As I was reading the above comments I cam across on from a lady asking if there is anyway to fix a broken bag. Let me just tell you from what I have been through! I spent 80.00 plus tax on a bag and two shells at a fair. The bag broke on all four rings that hold the straps together. i contacted headquarters and the sales rep that sold me the bag, Nothing, I didnt hear back went and purchased a different bag from a quick retail store and when they finally responded to my complaints It was out of the 30 day warranty (31 days is when they finally recieved my desperate complaint by email) and Now Dec 18, I have yet to have a refund for the defective product! I was told that the money would be sent to me by mail and I would return the defective product along with an unused shell when the check was given, Nothing! Now I finally start looking into the matter again and the Sales rep expects me to drive (45 min) to her home and do the exchange there! WOW ! My hope is that this message will save just one person from going through what I have gone through! God Luck Miche! Backing up your products like this will get you far!
I love this bag. when i got home to fill up the bag i realized that there is a bad smell coming out of this bag. like a oil or gas type of smell very stronge. if you snif near the actual purse or handles you can smell it. atleast on the one i have you can. what is that smell? did anyone elses bag have a smell on it? it smells like the things you buy from the dollar store like rubber smell.
i really like this bag but im very upset that it has this smell, its been 4 days and the smell has not gone away. i am going to be taking it back i got it from costco, hopeing its JUST this bag and not any other one.

I saw this bag at the State Fair and love the concept! I went on the webiste and found a store close to me and purchased 1 bag and 3 shells and I thought the price was reasonable and similar to everyone else. Sometimes I think the purse is a little small, but I found if I put my lipsitck, nail clipper and a few of my smaller items in a little diddy bag thigs fit better. The expandable sides are perfect and I truly like the idea of changing the shells to go with my offit. I do think if you purchase a miche bag that you find a store that you can trust ( I did) and I have not been disappointed. I am now just waiting to purchase more shells when they come out with a new color or style. The only think I would like is a little pocket on the outside for keys-but I don’t know if that is a possibility because of the product and weight. But for now I am very happy with this bag.
could anyone who has this bag just let me know if they smell something funny on it? because everyone seems to be happy with the bag and im just wondering why my bag has a that gas smell. if noone has this smell then i will for sure try and find one or else im just going to return it.

Hi Sania – My bags (brown & black) do not have any odor at all. I am shocked to hear about Tony’s issues because when I had some shell problems they were handled immediately and instead of making me send back the malfunctioned shell and waiting for a new one, they immediately sent me a new one. I have been dealing with michebag.com not the other site, http://www.4miche.com. I love love love my bag!! Thanks!!
I love the concept for Miche bags, however, this size is WAY too small; I am wondering if Miche is planning to come out with other sizes? I would suggest something about 13-15" in length, 6-7" in width and 8-10" in height. As well, I notice people are saying the strap loops are tearing on the bags – if a bigger size is made, please be sure to make heavy-duty support for the straps because the bigger the purse, the more we put in them! I purchased my Miche bag August 2, 2008. Love the bag and the whole idea of it! Genious! My bag did not smell, thank goodness. I purchased the long handles as well. Not even 3 months later, the loops that hold the handles on are ALL tearing. What is up with that? I have NEVER had a purse do that. I see many others are having this problems too. I don’t think they can just be sewn back on since they are actually tearing. Some attention really needs to be paid to this. I have contacted the dealer I bought by bag from, but I am not very hopeful that the bag will be replaced and after reading the other comments, even if the bag is replaced, I’m afraid the loops will tear on the new one. I may look into getting some metal grommets or something put into the purse to attach the metal rings to? Anyone have any ideas on this? Miche…please fix this problem
I was so happy to show off my great purse and let others know where they could get them! I would hate to have to spread the word about the quality and advise against it instead. Stand behind your product and replace the purses that smell bad and have handle issues please….
