p.s. I should note that the expandable design of the Miche Bag is not intended as an invitation to over-stuff the purse, but rather is meant to provide easy view of the contents of your purse. As a woman I know I have a tendancy to fill the space I have, particularly in my closet and purse, whether I need it or not. If you’re like me, I’m sure you’ll find that your Miche Bag easily holds the necessities right in place, but that second novel really can wait until next week.

I just ordered this bag with several shells, I think the concept is brilliant. The thing that I was worried about is that the bag would not last long enough and I’d be stuck with a bunch of shells… now I’m much more worries, are these problems with the tearing loops flukes? Is there anyone out there who’s had a Miche for more then a year and used it daily?
Thanks SueAnn for your answer but that is not the consern. I would expect the company to replace anything that is a manufacturing defect but what I’m wondering about is the expected life cycle of the bag.

I was contemplating purchasing this bag, but it sounds like the hardware and customer service are a bit problematic so I will keep watching this blog and see if they improve on quality and service. I too, would like to know the actual diminsions and where it is made. As I don’t want to buy one if it is made in China.
Sounds like a great idea of a purse. They just need to iron out the kinks.
Sorry for so many post but I did receive my bag and I do have some comments:
Pros – The shells are FANTASTIC! They look better in real life then they do online. They are made with the right quality level by my standards.
Cons – I have to agree with all the other poster that the base bag itself is not very good quality and will not stand the test of time (which I consider to be more then a year and idealy up to 5 years). On the other hand for the price you get what you pay for (and it is economical for those people that would not/could not pay more).
My Miche wish list would be that you come out with a base bag that is made with higher quality materials (something like the "Super Miche"
) for those of us that value longevity and are willing to pay for it.

I have just seen the commmercial and have a shoe and Bag compulsion so this is exciting , im weary about the purchase because of the "material , snap and strap comments", what are the provisions and policies for coverage of these problems. However the concept is GREAT.
I love the whole concept and ordered 5 shells to go with the bag. The only shell I do not care for is "Christine". It looks cheap the way the pockets and buckles are designed. I do like all the other ones and switch out daily. I would like to find a nice chocolate brown shell.
I ordered my Miche Bag 12 days ago and I’m still waiting for it to arrive.
However, that is not really my issue here; is it true there is a Mini Miche Bag and a Large Miche Bag? Well let’s see them!!! Can anyone tell me where I can take a look at the Mini and Large bags? (I’m referring to a web address, not a mall kiosk as I’m sure there is nothing near me, in the middle of Absolutely Nowhere Pennsylvania.)
Am very interested in the bag, but after reviewing the comments, I am concerned about the quality issues mentioned. Please let me know if those issues get worked out.
anyone who thinks this bag is going to last any amount of time is dilusional. you are looking at cheap CHINA plastic vinyl and for $100??? Are u kidding me. It’s like going to payless and buying 4 purses and then expecting them to last longer than a few wearings. this company TOTALLY SCREWED UP. they could have made these in the USA of NATURAL fibers like leather and been a little less greedy with the profits (kept the same price) and just having leather alone would greatly improve the quality of the item. and everyone asking about the mystery dollar store smell??? I just saw a commercial on this bag. Sounded great until I read this blog. There was no reply to what the purse is made of or what the shells are made of. Too many problems going on. Smelly bags, broken straps. Your talking 100 bucks. Would be nice to get a quality product for that price. I also think that it’s all probably made in China and your all wasting your money if you buy this product.
i dont know what everyone is complaing about. the bag is so nice! i love it! i have 3 kids and i use it every single day and so far i have not had anythiing damaged on my bag. Yes i was the one who complained about the " smell" in the bag. and believe me it was bad smell and it WAS that same dollar store smell but i went back to costco and i returned that one and got a new one and checked it before paying for it and since then i LOVe the bag still. yeah it would be great if it was in leather but its not so what can we do lol. its still a great bag. im going back next week to get some new shells. i just got the new brown ellie for my birthday from someone and i love that shell the quialty of that shell is really nice!
so everyone who said that there holding off for the bag just go buy it and dont order it from anywhere find a location and get ti from there so u can check it out properly and then buy it. and ANY other bag u have if its used roughly ofcourse it will ripe and get damanged. its most likely the way your handling the bag so its getting torn.

When would the "mini miche" bag be out on the market? would it have the same style of shells for the original miche bag???
i had complained about the dollar store smell. i returned the bag back right away i could not stand that smell. if they ever come out with this bag in leather i’d buy it!!

After seeing the commercials and researching online, I bought a bag and shells today at the mall. So far, I love it. The idea is fantastic.
Yes, there is a faint "oil" or "glue" smell that seems to be coming from the Brown Kimberly shell, not the bag. I am hoping it will dissipate. If not, I’ll take it up with the vendor.
Concern: I’m a computer professional and I’m wary of carrying my USB flash drive in my purse. I think I’ll just keep it in my coat pocket – on the side that I don’t carry my Miche.
Wish: I wish the interior zipper pocket were more roomy.
Suggestion: It would be nice to have an option to purchase gold colored caribbeaners for the straps. I noticed that one of the shells had a gold Miche logo on it. The gold caribbeaners would work with that.

I love the bag and the shells, it does not smell at all. !!!!!BUT!!!!! The fake leather things that hold the metal rings, that hold the straps are breaking. I dont think they will last much longer and without those, the bag will be un-usable. It cannot be fixed.. I do not overstuff my purse, all I carry is my wallet and my phone and a bunch of reciepts.. I have to admit the materials could be better/stronger. Sorry to bad mouth the bag on your site, but I’ve only had it for like 5 months and it’s breaking already. It cannot be fixed.. I was going to buy more shells but I cant now. I love this bag and get compliments all the time.
I for one, think this is a terific bag. I already have 20 of the shells, and just placed an order for 5 more. True, the Christinne is kind of cheaper looking than the others, but I have been really pleased with the other shells. I got my bag in August. I ordered from the infomercial 4miche.com, and their customer service is a bit different than dealing straight with michebag.com. They were out of stock on most of my shells, and wouldn’t ship the order until they could ship it complete. I had to call them several times to change out what I ordered just to get it to ship to me. Took way longer than dealing with miche directly. I usually get my orders within a week. All the prices of the shells are listed directly on the website, so I don’t understand why everyone keeps asking about the pricing? I have not had any problems with the straps, but I too would have preferred the bag to be just a bit taller. But then, all my shells wouldn’t fit another size… and I have quite the investment into this bag. And it has forced me to edit what I carry with me because I need to make sure the zipper zips closed, so my bag is much lighter than the one I used to carry.
I saw an ad on TV but didn’t get all the particulars such as dimentions, a look at the interior of the purse etc. The only thing I have found on your web page are the outer designs. I am really interested in one of your bags but would like to see what I would be getting. I hope you will send me the information and perhaps update your website to include additional information. I’m sure I’m not the only one that would appreciate it. Thanks
I caught this great bag system on television and immediately decided that I had to have it! I just came to the site and have read all of your comments – I am very disappointed.For $100+, you can certainly afford to offer long straps that are lovely and substantial. We exptect for items that we buy at the dollar store to perhaps "smell funny" or only last a year (and usually they last longer). Those items only cost #1.00. This bag system is not expensive, but not cheap either. Why are you trying to sell such a poorly made product when you can do so much better and still have many profitable sales coming at you, as well as repeat business?? As it stands now – who’s going to return for more subgrade product? No, I won’t be buying this bag system as it is offered now.

While the product is very good, the company doesn’t share the same philosphy toward CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!
They are saying it is the fault of "another" company….even with the NAME the same!!??

THE SHELLS CAME BEFORE THE PURSE WHICH WAS EXTREMELY WORTHLESS!! LACK OF CONCERN FOR CUSTOMER…BLATANLY PUSHES POOR SERVICE TOWARD "DIFFERENT" COMPANY!!! AS FOR ME, IF IT HAS YOUR NAME ON IT THEN CLAIM OWNERSHIP!!!
