No-Hassle Tassel Trends

Classic drapery pulls, graduation caps and men’s loafers all sport the same eye-catching accent— tassels. Tassels are unique and add a bit of extra interest to any look. You can include this fun, dangly trend into your wardrobe effortlessly. You’ll find them on:

• Necklaces
• Belts
• Handbags
• Bracelets
• Shoes

A little goes a long way, so don’t overdo it with more than a few. The easiest way we’ve found to add tassels is to grab a cross-body bag and throw it on over jeans, a bright top and gold earrings.

A-list stars are seen wearing tassel flair all the time. Why not borrow their look and make it your own?

• Strappy high-heeled sandles with tassels as worn by Blake Lively
• Understated black tassel necklace as seen on Kate Moss in LA
• Boho-chic feather tassel earrings as seen on Gwyneth Paltrow

A Simple Recipe for wearing Patterns

2-8-13_FashionFriday-Patterns_BLOG

Sometimes a little red pepper is all it takes to bring out the flavor of a dish. Putting together a delicious look can be as simple as adding a pattern, or if you’re daring—two. Here are three easy tips for the novice pattern wearer for that will help you look stylish and feel confident!

1. A little pattern goes a long way. Leopard print is nice, but don’t drown yourself. Like using spices when cooking, you want to add a little bit at a time until you feel comfortable. Try an animal-print scarf paired with neutrals or a floral-print handbag with coordinating bright pants. Never wear the same pattern or print from head to toe.

2. Don’t be afraid of color, but keep in mind patterns work best when paired with solids in the same color family. You can get away with more patterns if the main colors are complementary (opposite each other on the color wheel—like green and magenta) or analogous (next to each other on the color wheel—like tangerine and yellow).

3. Busy prints look best with simple styles. If you want to wear a complicated pattern, pair it with classic jeans, a basic black dress and uncomplicated accessories. The idea here is to give the eye one focal point. Remember your choice of pattern will never overpower your look if you balance it with a neutral, uncomplicated ensemble.

Flavor your style effortlessly this spring with a dash of plaid, floral, chevron stripes, checks or abstract patterns. Bon appétit!

Scissors, Glue, and Miche Bags

All that's needed to quilt - thread, a thimble, a needle, and creativity!

All that's needed to quilt - thread, a thimble, a needle, and creativity!

After watching the Miche Bag “All About Unique Handbags,” I suddenly became inspired by Michelle Romero’s simplistic approach to fixing her purse. The entire line of Miche Bags were formed out of a basic idea that wasn’t fancy – it was Michelle, with a pair of scissors and glue, fixing her purse! She didn’t have fantastic sewing skills – all she had were some basic arts and crafts materials. This is so inspiring to me, because often I think I can’t do a lot of crafts I want to, because I don’t have “experience” with that craft. However, after watching Michelle’s video, I’ve become inspired to create, even though, I don’t have a lot of experience! My best friend is having a baby in February, and I’ve decided to sew her baby a quilt, even though I don’t own a sewing machine or know how to even really sew! Once I got over my initial insecurities about not having the “right” equipment to sew, I discovered that I LOVED sewing by hand, especially something for someone I loved. I’ve been so inspired by Michelle Romero’s straightforward, creative approach to fixing her purse. How have you been inspired by Michelle Romero’s creative idea? What projects have you started that you’ve never had the confidence to do before? I can’t wait to finish my quilt – it’s going to be perfect.

Miche Bag Wants to Raise $1 Million for Cancer Research with the New “Hope” Shell!

Hope Small Front (3)

Miche Bag has found a way to give back, with the release of the new “Hope” shell. The proceeds from this shell will be donated to Huntsman Cancer Foundation to fund cancer research at Huntsman Cancer Institute. The shell comes in both classic size and big bag size, and was designed using quotes from real cancer survivors!

Miche Bag designer Jennie Platt felt that supporting cancer research was a perfect fit for the company because so many people associated with Miche Bag have shared personal battles with this terrible disease.

“In helping put together this program I was introduced to many courageous and inspiring people who were willing to share their journey with cancer,” Platt says, “a battle filled with challenges but also hope, love and beauty.  The shell I created needed to resonate this same message.  In the end, their message became the design and ‘Hope’ became a shell.”

The Company has set a goal to donate $1 million before 2011! To be apart of this great cause please buy a Hope shell from your nearest sales representative, retail outlet, or checkout the new Hope shell right here on Michebag.com!

2010 Miche Distributor Conference in Salt Lake City

The 2010 distributor conference wrapped up in SLC a few weeks ago and what a great opportunity for distributors and Miche Bag alike! Miche Bag set out to communicate, motivate and inspire its distributors. This was to be accomplished by a variety of different gatherings and formats. New products were introduced, hearts were touched, and important information was relayed. Was it a success? Based upon the comments and expressions of appreciation that have flowed since the conference ended, definitely it was a success. When you have miles between you and you are only able to communicate via email and telephone, the personal touch is often lost. For distributors to say that Miche Bag and its leaders are “real” was the one of the greatest compliments that could have been shared. This conference gave us all the opportunity to get to know one another better and bond more closely, like a family.

WOW, What an outstanding weekend! It was so great to meet all of the distributors and hear their own personal “Miche” stories. The classes were informative with exciting new announcements around every corner. I would say anyone who attended left with a full tank ready to explode with Miche Bag. My favorite part of the weekend was the fashion show with releases of 2010 and the release of the hope shell to benefit cancer. $5 of every bag sold goes to cancer research! We hope to donate 1 million dollars or more this year alone! Amazing, amazing, amazing weekend…and did I mention the food?

Conference for me was unlike anything I have ever experienced. The opportunity to meet the amazing distributors that we work with was something that helps remind me why I enjoy this job. One thing that stood out to me is how grateful all those who attended were for that special weekend. Following the conference the overwhelming flood of “thank you’s” that came into our office in the days and weeks following conference was unbelievable. We read all of them to our entire staff and have kept them out on the cabinets like you would your Christmas Cards. Thanks to the planning and support, and most importantly the mood and energy of our phenomenal distributors, the weekend was fast paced and unforgettable.
