Hi there! For those of you who are new to Miche— or maybe just new to this blog—welcome! I’m Jennie Platt, the Chief Design and Production Officer at the Miche Home Office. Exactly what does that mean, you may ask? Well, that means I get to oversee all the design and production of our wonderful Miche products. Pretty sweet deal right? Can’t say I really have any complaints!
Not only did I want to introduce myself to you, but I am also thrilled to introduce to you a new feature to the Miche blog called “Fashion Friday,” which will be brought to you every Friday by me. Now the weekend won’t be the only thing to look forward to on Friday—at least that is the goal.
I can’t tell you enough how excited I am about this opportunity to share a little bit of my world with you and all that goes into designing Miche handbags and accessories.

Hi there! So, does this mean that you are the one I need to complain to so that I can FINALLY get the shell I want?!? I have been asking for almost a year now. I would like a Stefanie (the camo shell) for my big bag. I am ready to go elsewhere for my purses so that I can get what I want. I have been waiting it out, but this is crazy. I had even sold all of my other purses in order for me to have the Miche purses, but now my husband agrees that if I don’t get what I want, I should go elsewhere. Please help! Thanks!
Whoa, what a great job! I have SO many ideas for designs! Please make a big bag shell with a black background and multi hot colors (orange, turquoise, yellow, lime green) in circles or other geometric.
Since you oversee the design of the bags, I have two suggestions. Pleaseeeeee, offer the big bags in the same patterns/fabric as the original Miche bag. So many of the smaller bags are so cute, but don’t come in the large size. Very disappointing.
Secondly, how about a bag that is larger than the original bag, but smaller than the Big bag. The small bag is too small, but the Big bag is sometimes too big. Many of my friends feel the same way and therefore don’t buy the Miche. You could really sell that size!

I would like to say I would definitely LOVE the CAMO in the BIG BAG…bUT I would NEVER go ELSEWHERE cuz No one has what MICHE has!!!!!!!!! I have a few friends with BIG BAGS and they too would LOVE a BIG BAG CAMO!!!! Jennie Could you help some sisters out! I know it’s all about what does the public want:) So I would like to ask you Please hear our cries:))))) A Camo Big Bag would BE AWESOME!!! You are an amazing designer. I love the HOPE SHELL and the CASSIE is my Ultimate Fave everyday shell!

Here Jennie has provided us all with an open platform to openly and collectively discuss Miche Bag design WITH her and we have the first post be this rude and pretentious comment. I am a little saddened and hurt to read this myself, I can imagine how Jennie feels. It must be a monumental task to come up with four to six designs every month and try to stay up with the newest trends and what people want. Would you want to cater to someone who comes at you to “complain” that they better FINALLY get what they want or they are just gonna go crazy and go else where if they don’t get what they want. It is understandable that not everyone is going to like all of the shells all of the time. You don’t have to love all of the shells but all of us here do love the bag.
So on a lighter note let us all give Jennie some supportive and creative feedback! Miche is great about listening to its customers and reps so give them feedback in a form that we can be proud of giving and them receiving. If you don’t like something tell them why in a productive way. If you don’t like the texture what would you rather see? If you want summery colors then which colors are you after? We all love how dynamic the product can be and that it appeals to so many people on so many levels. We are very lucky that Jennie takes the time to listen to us instead of just saying “this is what you get”. I saw some great things at conference and look forward to seeing what the rest of the year holds.

I would really like to see a regular size shell to match the Lacy big bag shell. it is beautiful.

I was wondering if you could come out with a Denim shell. I wear nothing but jean skirts most of the time. I would like to have a shell that matches that. I would like it to be like the violet or the madelyn shell where the purse sits down inside of the shell. I have a lot of problems with the other ones popping off all the time. Also, you need to come out with a purse that is a little bigger than the classic but smaller than the big bag. I would like to have one that size. Also my daughter would like a shell for her mini miche that sits down inside as well and has some pockets. Thanks,

I am looking for a shell for the big bag that isn’t the shiny stuff. More of a “flat” color. A black/grey/silver/ or cream color is good. Not all together, of course.

As a representative and a huge fan, I just have to say that your blog is an AWESOME idea! I have to agree that Michelle’s post up top was very rude and tactless. Don’t worry, you have lots and lots of fans, including me. I personally own in my collection 60 Classic shells, 12 Big Bag shells and all of the Mini shells. I love them ALL!!! I was at the Richmond, VA conference and I am very excited for all of the beautiful shells you have in the works. I can’t wait until July’s releases. Keep up the great work!

They already brought out a denim slip-on shell. Her name is Denice and she is a representative only shell (you can only get it through a representative). You can see your local representative and they should be able to get it for you no problem. For the Mini they just came out with Demi which is also denim that slips-on which creates the extra side pockets for the mini. I hope that is helpful to you.
Please keep in mind that they only release about 5 shells a month and it may be a while before a shell that you have been asking for is finally released. Like they say, patience is a virtue!!!

What great thing!!! Way to go Miche and Jennie. Blogs are a great way to open up to the market. If I might make a couple of suggestions. Invert the posts, so the newest ones are first and older comments are at the end. Would much rather see the newest comments, and posting that way is becoming a standard practice in the blogosphere. May I also suggest you use bags that are new at the top of the blog. It’s a draw for fans and no frustration to your reps if the bags on the site are retired.
I love the Miche Bag and designs, so many options. At the moment there are only two things I would like to see. One is more purple. I unfortunate got my miche after the bella and ellie were already retired. And second, I would love to see a denim big bag like the Denise and Demi.

I have been having the classic miche since I first seen on tv and then about 2 years ago at a craft fair in Mississippi I bought another base so I have a black and a brown bace and aout 2 dozen of the covers and would love to get more but since I puchased the price has increased and I am on a limited income and would love to get another black base and the camo outer cover but at these prices can’t afford so when are ya’ll going to have a sale or a deal get the base and a couple shells to with it like I orginally got and also at the craft fair I got a sale on the shells and even purchased 2 minis for my granddaughters they loved them. Any help would be nice thanks in advance.

First off, THANK YOU for all the wonderful designs!!! I attended one of the recent conferences and was absolutely amazed at what you have in store for us this next year!
Secondly, can I suggest that you come out with a red mini, similar to the Ella Red in the Classic shell. There are a lot of women in the Red Hat Society who would LOVE it! They have also requested a purple one but don’t want to be greedy and ask for both
Third, after seeing all the great shells you showed us at conference I know you cannot release them all! Now I am stressing what is going to happen to all those fabulous shells that don’t get released each month. What will you do with them?

I absolutely love Miche bags and their unique look, style and feel. I am an aspiring Miche Distributor, and hope that you can get in contact with me so that I get the opportuniy to assist you in spreading the news in my neck of the woods. My first Miche bag was purchased from a friend who lives in Austin Texas, Buda TX to be exact. I have shown it to my friends and family members and you have fans here in NYC but there are no retailers where I live in the Bronx, NY. I hope to invest in becoming a distributor if given the opportunity to do so.

I, also, would love to see a smaller ‘large bag’. The large bag is too big and the classic is too small……for me. I was wondering…..could you make a cover that was smaller that would still go on the large bag. I guess the inside base fabric would have to fold up somehow. That would allow a person to use it with the larger covers or the medium covers. This way the company wouldn’t have to create a whole new base. Just a thought. Thanks!!
I have the Miche classic, which I love, but sometimes I find I need a bit more room to carry books, papers, yogurt, etc. and would like to try the Big bag.
I absolutely love the Miche Prima bag and would love a shell in denim or patchwork denim. It would go with everything casual. Also, would Miche ever think about the possibility of designing braided handles for the bags?
